I have studied the Five Elements since I was a child. My father taught me, the way his father taught him. Not as a theory, but as a living practice: how to read a constitution, how to identify an imbalance, how to sense what a person is missing before they can name it themselves.
By the time I was grown, I had internalized something I could not easily explain: the ability to feel what is out of balance, and what, from the natural world, might help restore it.
In 2025, within the same season, I lost my father and welcomed my son.
My father left quietly. My son arrived loud and new. Both happened in the same city, within the same year, in what felt like the same breath. I had spent my life studying what happens when two energies exist in tension. That year, I finally understood it in my body, not just my mind.
"What you know isn't for making yourself feel better. It's for giving others something to lean on."
So I went to Putuo Mountain. I brought stones. I asked Guanyin to bless them for people standing at a crossroads, people who had just lost something, or were just beginning something. I did not go as a tourist. I went as someone who had been preparing for this, without knowing it.
I named the brand Noah. It is my son's name. In Hebrew: rest, comfort, shelter. That is what I want to give you.
